06.06.26 – A&A RAILROAD CYCLE TOUR

Join us on June 6th, at 1pm for a combination train and bicycle adventure through Wyoming County, hosted by the Arcade & Attica Railroad and the Genesee Valley Pathfinders!

Riders are asked to bring their bicycles to the Arcade Depot 30 minutes early to ensure an easy loading of bikes onto the train. Promptly at 1pm, the historic A&A steam engine will depart from Arcade Depot, chugging along the several miles to Curriers’ station. From there, we’ll unload our bikes and regroup before beginning the bike tour along the quaint hamlets and creek gorges leading us back to Arcade.

Note: those wanting to ride the train back and skip the bike ride may do so.

Navigate to the June page of the calendar, and select the A&A Railroad and passenger combo tour. Tickets will go quickly due to the limited seating and demand for steam engine rides – so act fast!

There will be TWO routes again this year – a short one and a long one.

LONG RIDE – Hosted by Dan
Distance: 36mi // Climb: 2,060

SHORT RIDE – Hosted by James & Larissa
Distance: 20mi // Climb: 1,250

This is a self supported bicycle-tour, and you are participating at your own risk. There are two available routes on low traffic country roads, most of which are shared with automobile traffic. The ride is a no-drop ride, and will go on a leisurely pace. Riders are expected to come equipped with their own water, snacks, and any supplies they need in case of a mechanical problem. The ride last year was so big that by the end, most of us got separated into groups – so download or copy or save or print the map beforehand just in case.

Where is everyone sitting? When I go to buy tickets it want’s me to pick out seats. I’d like to sit with the other bike dorks

Good question bike dork! I believe the seats are not real and are simply there so that they can keep track of how many riders they have. To be safe – pick the last car in the back of the train. It will be closest to the bikes if memory serves.
