Route:*link to route here*
Length D1: 35+ miles
Height D1: +2900 feet
Length D2: 5 miles
Height: D2: -700 feet

This journey begins at the shore of Hemlock Lake, where we’ll all meet at noon for the grand depart. Our route will take us up and along the Canadice outlet, heading southeasterly uphill until reaching Canadice lake and its wonderful carriage roads. Upon completion of the trail, we’ll continue south towards Reynolds gully before climbing up and along its winding road up Canadice Hill. Near the top, we’ll continue south – descending back down into the valley on the always fun Lime Kiln road before looping back north on Pokeymoonshine road. From there, it’s a straight shot north past Libertypole and Websters Crossing before a short climb back up into the foothills for camp.

At camp, we’ll unpack our bikes, dust of the cobwebs from last season’s adventures, and set up camp for the evening. Expect to have fresh water available to refill your bottles at camp – but that’s about it. It’s up to you to bring all of your supplies for food, camp, comfort, etc…

Once we’ve broken camp and had breakfast, it’s a short fast downhill back to the parking whence we began. If you wake up early enough, you may get there in well under 24 hours.

Q: What is a S24O?
A sub-24-hour-overnighter. It’s where you go bike touring real fast and sleep outside. It forces you to find places close by to meet the 24 hour requirement, making it a fun way to explore new places near your home.

Q: What bike should I bring?
A good sturdy touring bike with racks and bags setup for an overnight bike campout. Mostly road riding will be done, however some roads are better than others. The best tire size would be between 38mm and 55mm, but ride what ya brung.

Q: What gear should I bring?
This is a self-supported bike tour with no resupply points, so it’s up to you to bring what you need. But below will be a good idea of what to bring:

Shelter system for the evening (tent/tarp/hammock)
Food for the ride (lunch, dinner, breakfast, snacks)
A change of clothing (sleep)
Bike repair kit (tubes, patches, parts, air)
Rain jacket
The route (just in case you get separated)
Whatever else you need to have a good time

Q: What style riding should I expect?
A-T-B BABY! We’ll be riding a big mix of different road surfaces at a moderate pace (8-12mph) for the duration of the ride, with some slower and some faster bits based on terrain/vibe. We will wait for you at intersections/turns if we notice you’re missing, and have several beaks when terrain demands it. There are NO RESUPPLY points on this route, so expect to bring everything you need like you’re packing for the Oregon Trail.
